I have already written about this phenomenon, which has been noticed for a long time – most people who think they have learned to read for a long time have NOT LEARNED!

They learned to recognize certain hooks on paper and put them in combinations called words and sentences, but MINDLESSLY, by the visual center of the brain and no further!

Here is a very, very recent example:

Yesterday’s note about an interesting toy – a copper spiral in which a magnetic “projectile” moves “by itself”.

Another “perpetual motion machine”?

Two magnets plus an iron core and a magnetic projectile ITSELF moves in a copper spiral?

Of course not!

The “iron core” is not just a piece of iron, but a device with a battery that generates powerful electromagnetic pulses that create eddy currents in the coils of the spiral, whose magnetic field, interacting with the magnetic fields of two permanent magnets, pushes the “projectile” in a certain direction.

If a compass is placed near the “core”, its arrow, of course, will take a position along the field created by two strong permanent magnets. But, at the same time, it will either tremble or turn sharply under the influence of a pulsed magnetic field created by the “filling” of the core.

But the toy is funny!

A very IMPORTANT “Subtlety”: Eddy currents CANNOT occur in an open circuit.

And in the photos and in the film, an obvious SPIRAL is visible. So HOW can Foucault eddy currents arise in it, UNCLOSED???

But it is enough to look closely to see that the coils of the spiral are in contact with each other! And, thus, they form a system of CLOSED rings, in which Foucault currents arise, creating their own magnetic fields!

If you make a spiral out of an INSULATED WIRE, there will be no movement of the “projectile”!

I purposely did not publish this IMPORTANT addition right away in order to see the reaction of readers.

NO ONE has MADE ANY CRITICAL COMMENTS about eddy currents.

So, the film shows a SPECIAL DECEPTION of NAIVE BUT LITERATE STUDENTS, which consists in the fact that the copper spiral really consists of COILS of wire SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER!

AT THE BEGINNING AND AT THE END!!!

But not further, where the coils are located tightly and in CONTACT with each other! Thereby forming some kind of CLOSED copper tubes in which Foucault eddy currents CAN occur. Note that in the film, the author slightly PUSHES the “projectile” inside the spiral! To tight coils!

Why?

But because at the beginning of the spiral, the coils are separated and DO NOT TOUCH each other, which means that NO EDDY CURRENTS can arise at the very beginning and end of the spiral! And then the coils are already arranged tightly, touching each other and eddy currents CAN occur in them!

Such a primitive trick, but IT WORKS, creating the NECESSARY ILLUSION of an “honest spiral” consisting of separate turns from each other!

Summary: A sad confirmation of PEOPLE’s INSTINCTIVE HATRED OF HONEST REAL THINKING, and the relieved and sighing substitution of it by LABELING!
