First, a quote from the book by the famous German physicist R.V.Pohl “The Doctrine of Electricity” About the saturation current in an electron lamp. It is recommended as a textbook for universities with a physical and mathematical bias and for engineering and electrical engineering universities.

Paragraph 153, page 322.

“The electrons picked up by the field form a cloud of spatial charge between the electrodes (cathode and anode). In this case, some of the field lines coming from the anode end not at the cathode, but at the electrons of this cloud. The denser the cloud becomes, the weaker the field near the cathode. Eventually, all the field lines end at the cloud. and a field-free area is created in front of the cathode. Now the field can no longer further increase the number of electrons it carries, the electron current reaches its full value corresponding to the given voltage.”

There is no point in continuing this reasoning any further. Of course, this is not an invention of the Field itself. It is GENERALLY ACCEPTED in physics to this day. It doesn’t matter who invented it, what matters is that it isa textbook truth and a truth that is “scientifically based and generally accepted!”

The concept of “SATURATION CURRENT” in the Physical Encyclopedic Dictionary does not appear as a separate article.

There are no “FIELD LINES” in reality! This is just OUR invention to visualize the field and facilitate our own understanding of a certain matter, which we call a FORCE FIELD. THE FIELD DOES NOT CONSIST OF LINES, IT IS CONTINUOUS. Electric or magnetic “lines of force” are just some chains of particles that react electrically or magnetically to the field, which form some lines! But again, this is just OUR METHOD of visualizing the action of the field, and not the ACTUAL «LINES OF FORCE» OF THIS FIELD!

If this were even one percent true, then the electric current through the wires from the power plant would not go to consumers at all, but stood somewhere near the main switch of the generators! Because the charge density in a copper conductor is many orders of magnitude greater (6.5 x10 to the twenty-second power!) than in an electron cloud in a lamp, where, by the way, the distance between the cathode and the anode is centimeters. And ALL THE LINES OF THE FIELD PRODUCED BY THE GENERATOR OF THE POWER PLANT should have ended at this super–dense electronic gas in the wire at the nearest meter and not a step further! It is strange why, if we create an electric field strength of 0.1 volts per meter in a copper wire, this already gives a current in the wire, the technical limit of 6 amperes per square millimeter! And where do the field lines “end” on many hundreds and thousands of kilometers of electric power transmission by wire?

And such outright lies are put on students’ ears and they are taught not to think logically, but to stupidly and thoughtlessly memorize ridiculous dogmas!

Moral: Rather than running amok with bulging eyes on a sweaty face to “forward, discover new mysteries and riddles of nature,” wouldn’t it be better to first pull on the pants of UNDERSTANDING over the bare ass of a long-known, but MISUNDERSTOOD, and if understood, then WRONGLY, BECAUSE…
