The old idea of dealing with tsunamis.
Many people have heard about “heavy water”. This is water in which ordinary hydrogen is replaced by its more massive isotope deuterium, which has two nucleons in its core: a proton and a neutron. In ordinary hydrogen, the nucleus is just a single proton. Even more “heavy water” is water with tritium. An isotope of hydrogen with three nucleons in the nucleus: One proton and two neutrons.
Now about the light water.
We know what a tsunami is. If, as a result of shifts in the seabed or coastal earthquakes, there is a sharp change in the relief of the interface between two media – water and soil, a wave arises that is practically invisible in the open and deep sea or ocean, although it moves with great speed. But when such a mass of water reaches shallow water, it grows to many meters or even tens of meters in height and collapses onto the shore, washing away and flooding the entire coast. The usual way to escape is with an earlier warning. AND THAT’S IT! There is no struggle, there is an escape from adversity.
No dams, locks, dams will help here.
Nevertheless, there is a way, and it is simple and relatively cheap.
Imagine that a kilometer from the coastline there is a certain zone of air in the sea column. What will happen to any wave that enters such a band several hundred meters wide? SHE’S GOING TO FAIL.
Now imagine that where we just imagined a kind of air chasm in the ocean water column, there are many pipes with millions of small holes at the bottom, from which bubbles of the most ordinary air come out. Water saturated with bubbles is much lighter than ordinary water, because part of the unit volume of such water fills the air, and its specific gravity can be regulated by the degree of saturation of water with bubbles. The tsunami wave, having reached such light water, will fall into it and nothing will reach the shore!. Powerful pumps that supply air to pipes can be on shore or on ships protected from a tsunami by a strip of light water created by them.
A torpedo is moving rapidly towards the ship, but the ship is suddenly surrounded by a multi-meter strip of light water and the torpedo simply falls through, sinks into it, and then, having surfaced, it will move in a completely different direction.
Is such light water real, or is it just another fanciful idea of some senile old man?
It’s real!
It is already being realized in nature, but in the form of an extremely dangerous phenomenon. If a ship is sailing on the ocean and without any waves or storms gets into the zone of light water created by the eruption of an underwater volcano, it will instantly sink, without even having time to send a distress signal!
Nature itself has given us evidence of the REALITY OF LIGHT WATER!
The goals are clear! The tasks are defined! Let’s get to work, comrades!
