A ganglion is a nerve node, a cluster of nerve cells that perform some vital function. Insects, for example, ants, bees, termites, etc., DO NOT HAVE a BRAIN! It has been perfectly replaced by nerve nodes and ganglia for several hundred million years. IT is VERY SUCCESSFUL, because the species of these insects are among the oldest on Earth. And despite their seeming fragility and vulnerability, they are nevertheless capable of solving many problems related to their lives and ensuring it. Otherwise, they would have become extinct, just as thousands of species of other, much more powerful and non-fragile animals became extinct. Dinosaurs (terrible lizards), for example, or machairoduses (saber-toothed tigers), etc.
There are two ganglia in our heart: the sinoatrial ganglion and the atrioventricular ganglion. These are two generators of nerve impulses that stimulate the contraction of the entire heart muscle, the myocardium.
(Muscles themselves “cannot contract”; to excite their contractions, a certain nerve impulse is required, produced by the so-called motor neuron. Therefore, the term “neuromuscular preparation” is often used in physiology.
According to one of my hypotheses, morning leg muscle cramps in the elderly are caused by EXCESSIVELY long rest of the muscles. The fact is that contraction for a muscle IS NOT ITS JOB OR DUTY, but AN INTEGRAL PART of its normal existence. Part of its life cycle. A denervated (i.e., devoid of innervation) muscle atrophies and dies. And if it doesn’t get the nerve impulse she NEEDS for a vital contraction for a long time, it “TRIES” to contract herself, «NOT KNOWING» HOW to do it right! So there is a prolonged and extremely painful spasm!)
So, the heart cannot contract normally without these two “stimulator generators”!
IT SHOULD BE the SAME in our brain.
BUT THIS IS NOT IN THE BRAIN!
Evolution, due to its very advanced age of two billion years, has long since fallen into senile dementia, but somewhere many tens or even hundreds of millions of years ago, IT FORGOT to supply the brain of living beings with the same stimulants that stimulate like heart activity!
Example: If a healthy, energetic and active person is artificially disconnected from all external stimuli – vision, hearing, tactile and other sensations, then he will plunge into a kind of comatose hibernation, despite the fact that no “narcotic drugs”, as with general surgical anesthesia, were injected into him!
The idea of the need for such “mentally stimulating” ganglia was inspired by my observations of people who were extremely mentally active and suddenly, very quickly, fall into Alzheimer’s disease or another form of senile dementia.
Ronald Reagan was an excellent and very sensible US president, which unfortunately did not exist before or after him!
Two cadences ended and he quickly deteriorated. “Alzheimer’s!”
Margaret Thatcher is smart, energetic and excellently coped with the difficult post of Prime Minister of Great Britain, after leaving this post she quickly began to degrade, and also – “Alzheimer”!
How come, – I asked myself, – they weren’t mentally lazy at all!!! They solved complex problems of state policy quickly and correctly!
The answer is a hypothesis. Their mental activity and quick, sound and correct decisions were stimulated from the OUTSIDE! The position was demanding, and they responded to the EXTERNAL CHALLENGE with dignity and in a timely manner. But after retiring, they LOST these external stimuli and their brains, devoid of stimulating EXTERNAL motives for activity, as just described, and without an INTERNAL ACTIVATOR, began to rapidly DISCONNECT from any mental activity.
EXITUS!
The heart, taken out from a living organism and being supplied with everything necessary, can continue to contract for a long time, because IT has the aforementioned autonomous generators-stimulators of activity.
But the brain doesn’t have them.
So, the task of every reasonable person is to CREATE such ganglia that CONSTANTLY excite the activity of his brain – the GANGLIA OF THOUGHT!
Everything would be fine, in words, but HOW???
It’s very simple: To constantly and extremely strain your thinking, load it with DIFFICULT (and not fictitious game dumb puzzles for the defective, such as crosswords, sudokas and other fake pseudo–thinking stimulators) and REAL problems.
It’s simple, but it’s very laborious.
Right!
But the other possibility is still senile dementia!
And everyone is given the right to choose…
I chose the labor intensity…
