Going through the papers of an old geezer who died a few years ago and left me his papers and notes, I came across several pages of strange text, obviously torn from some book. I quickly realized that these were pages from the “Internal Service Regulations” of the Soviet Army.

Well-read and intelligent people will say ironically: “The author of Esprit has probably lost his mind if he finds time to read such nonsense!”

Perhaps they are right, because just one phrase from what I read led me to serious thoughts about why there are rules and prohibitions that “regulate” the behavior of creatures in this strictly hierarchical herd and, as usual, hypocritically proclaimed “LAWS”.

Although they have no resemblance to the REAL LAWS OF NATURE! And the name “Laws” has been given since ancient times precisely because of the natural genetic deceit and hypocrisy of the descendants of cannibals.

The laws of nature are some objectively existing causes of various phenomena that we have learned. They are eternal and unchangeable, they are often the absolute truth.

We cannot change them “at the behest of the pike, at will.” They don’t depend on our likes or dislikes or our whims.

The “ruls” and instructions in the hierarchical herd are arbitrary and do not even bear traces of objectivism, but are changeable to their opposite at any moment when the need arises, because they were invented by those in power to ensure their stable position at the top of the hierarchical ladder, if possible, for a long time, if not forever.

So, what “deep thought” did I manage to extract from reading a couple of pages of the “Internal Service Regulations of the Soviet Army”?

In particular, there is a phrase about HOW MUCH TIME A SOLDIER ASSIGNED TO A KITCHEN WORKER HAS THE RIGHT TO SLEEP.

And it sounds strange:

It turns out to be a private assigned to the kitchen (for more than twenty-four hours!) HE HAS NO RIGHT TO SLEEP MORE THAN FIVE HOURS!!!!

It’s different in the guardhouse. The guard walks around with weapons for two hours or stands guard for two hours. Then he has the right to sit in the gard office for two more hours WITHOUT SLEEPING! And then two more hours of sleep. And so it goes for a day.

But here, in the kifchen, it specifically prohibits sleeping for more than five hours!

Does it look completely absurd?

And it is NOT conditioned by anything. Let’s say that in the evening, after dinner, he washed all the dishes, cleaned the floors in the dining room and kitchen, and generally prepared the kitchen and dining room for breakfast. The cook will come, say, at five o’clock in the morning. And our disciplined private did everything by nine or ten in the evening, which means he can sleep comfortably for seven to eight hours.

No!

The statute forbids it!

Such a vile and illogical order led me to more general thoughts that, perhaps, ALL the laws of the human hierarchical herd are built in such a way THAT ANY HERD CITIZEN, just for the sake of his purely biological SURVIVAL, must necessarily BREAK SOMETHING!

An absurdity?

No!

This immediately gives those in power a completely “legal” opportunity to punish him for some kind of VIOLATION of the LAW, dug out of his daily life!

THE PRESUMPTION OF PERMANENT GUILT!

And this rule, to make any herd creature a priori guilty, immediately eliminates for those in power any purely legitimate desire for “justice” by the lower classes!

“Oh, did you want ‘justice’? Great, let’s see. how much do YOU respect the rule of law and justice!!!

It was here and then that you committed an offense!

And there and then too!

And here it is again!

Is this YOUR justice? You break it yourself at every opportunity, but from US, the Upper-class, do you have the audacity to demand its observance??? So, get this “Justice” in your face.

That’s all.

Knowing that his “muzzle is not legally clean”, not every “citizen” will climb to fight for HIS JUSTICE.

Any legal system, regardless of the structure of the state (democracy, totalitarianism, theocracy, dictatorship, monarchy, etc.) is always built exactly like this, and for its survival, any gregarious person IS OBLIGED to violate some “laws” many times.

This is the essence of any educational and punitive (PENITENTIARY) legal system.

Do you want to live? BREAK IT!

Do you want to be one hundred percent law-abiding? CROAK! DIE!

In Robert Penn Warren’s interesting and very clever novel “All the King’s Men,” the main character, Willy Stark, says, and it seems, more than once, a very meaningful phrase:

“Man was conceived in sin, born in abomination, and his path is from a fetid diaper to a stinking shroud!”

He just didn’t add, “LIVING IN A HIERARCHICAL HERD.” By this he just emphasizes that there are NO “SINLESS” FROM the POINT OF VIEW OF HUMAN LAW!

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING!!!

ILLEGAL!

Historical Materialism was right when it called ANY STATE AS AN INSTRUMENT OF VIOLENCE!

And we have just described one of the forms of this violence!

I remind you that I do not have the slightest legal education!
