The cat duet, Rossini Cat’s duet of Rossini
An American friend sent me a letter in which she informed me that she was preparing her own dinners for the next week and at the same time singing in a choir with her two kittens.
I couldn’t resist and immediately sent her an absolutely charming “Cat Duet” by Gioacchino Rossini.
My cats and I always turned it on, they ran around, interested, and looked at the monitor screen with some bewilderment, from where there was a clear meowing, but no siblings appeared there.
The story of the creation of the “duo” is simple.
Rossini was courting a lady who was very picky and fastidious. And she demanded that her boyfriend stand under her balcony all night and meow like a cat.
Instead, Rossini wrote this duet and dedicated it to the lady!
The boys performers are certainly very talented!
