In the picture: On the left, the original image from Artemis flying over the dark side of the Moon on 6 IV 2026
On the right is the same image with increased contrast. If you look closely, you can again see the edge of the lunar “disk” ILLUMINATED by the Sun! And even in the upper left part of the Moon, where there doesn’t seem to be any “glow of space”!!
The only plausible explanation that came to my mind yesterday was the DIFFRACTION of light waves or quanta at the edge of the “disk” and, as a result, creating the illusion for the observer that the part of the Moon that is CLOSED to light is partially illuminated.
