The young man pointed out many things correctly.
But he became too attached to the hydraulic analogy of shock waves in a pipe when water moving in it suddenly encounters an obstacle. Then, indeed, a pressure shock wave propagates retrograde through the pipe.
But with electrons, this analogy is too crude and mechanical. He himself points out that these analogies are not entirely acceptable and mentions the words “Magnetic field” ONLY ONCE in this context. But he continues to insist on the existence of this apparently “discovered by him” phenomenon.
And the key to the solution lies precisely in the magnetic field he mentioned once, which he does not remember throughout the entire “lecture” and only briefly mentions it once!
The author wound SOLENOIDS and WINDINGS of an air TRANSFORMER on the frames, that is, he created closed oscillatory circuits with distributed L and C(Inductance and capacitance – concepts known since the first radio broadcasts).
When he closed the circuit, a powerful short-circuit current excited the appearance and rapid growth of a MAGNETIC FIELD in the closed winding, which gave rise to SELF-INDUCTION EMF at the OPEN ends of the solenoid. That is, it caused a fading radio pulse in the circuit. In fact, he reproduced a DC transformer, like a Rumkorff Coil! Only there is a two-circuit circuit and the vibrator closes and opens the current in the primary winding all the time, and here there was a one-time self-induction process. A “quasi-stationary process” in a radio circuit with a de facto,auto transformer!
The young man is NOT a charlatan, in my opinion. He sincerely believes that he has detected retrograde voltage waves in the wire from the “impact of an electronic pole” on an obstacle. In fact, there was no impact, and certainly not the impact of something moving at the speed of light. The rate of electron drift in wires is HUNDREDTHS AND TENTHS of a millimeter per second!!! TRILLIONS OF TIMES SLOWER than the speed of the field propagation along the wire!
There was a mental substitution of the ordinary impulse phenomenon of self-induction in the winding of an air transformer and the mythical electronic impact on the open end of the wire!
