Once again I watched the wonderful film by Peter Bogdanovich.

A masterpiece!

Not a single frame or word or movement is superfluous, and nothing can be added either!

CLASSIC!.

All are alive, not a single, most episodic face, there is no “cardboard”. A living picture of prohibition-era America.

Tatum O’Neal won her first and, it seems, her last Oscar at the age of ten.

Deservedly so.

Peter (Peter) Bogdanovich was not going to shoot Ryan O’Neal with his daughter, but Paul Newman with his daughter. But Newman was busy filming another movie.

What role did the little girl play in this movie?

The daughter of a prostitute, who has already become acquainted with such aspects of “adult life” since childhood, which people get to know much later with the advent of the corresponding “life experience”.

In one article “Ecclesiastes in the public education system” on September 20, 2020, I already talked about this necessary correspondence between spiritual age and life experience.

And when one thing doesn’t match the other, it often leads to the tragedy of a lifetime.

When a ten-year-old girl, unable to properly perceive and evaluate the facts of “adult life,” is thrown into such a life, and even into a rather “shadowy” part of it, it often disrupts the normal course of the child’s spiritual development.

The same thing happened with Tatum O’Neal.

Having brilliantly played her part in a beautiful work of art, she paid the price with the tragedy of her personal life.

At an early age, she became involved with the pervert, pedophile and child molester Michael Jackson. This also did not contribute to her normal development in any way.

She married tennis player John Mc’Enrow. They divorced after eight years. Alcoholic, drug addict, and all the rest…

I saw her later in another completely incompetent consolation film for old goats, «Circle for Two», with a very “middle-aged” Richard Burton. A kind of buxom nubile high school student who appears completely naked in front of the hero.

The movie is mediocre, and so is the acting of both!

But, as already mentioned, the film is targeted: They say, the old goats are senile, do not be discouraged, do not grieve for the past young potency! And there will be lovers for you, young and sexy, who, of course, will fall madly in love with you because of your exceptionally rich “inner content”!

That’s the whole story.

And the question is: Was it worth ruining a person’s entire life in order to create a great work of art?

I don’t have an answer!

How many people laid down their bones for the whim of Peter the Great, who wanted to build a new capital “Out of the darkness of the forests, out of the swallow up swamps”?

How many people died during the construction of pyramids, magnificent cathedrals, bridges, buildings, tunnels…?

Legend (perhaps a vile fiction) tells us that Michelangelo Buonarotti poisoned either his nephew or his model in order to portray the dying Christ more truthfully.

It can be noted that many times more people died in senseless wars.

This is the path of humanity – the descendants of cannibals – without blood, we cannot move into a wonderful future FOR US…
