Combat Survival Evader Locator (CSEL): A handheld radio used by military pilots that acts as a secure beacon and communication device. It uses GPS and transmits encrypted bursts of information to search and rescue satellites while remaining difficult for enemies to track.

• Personal Locator Beacon (PLB): A portable backup device (like the ResQLink+) that alerts rescue services to a pilot’s exact location via 406 MHz distress signals.
• Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT): A device permanently installed in aircraft that automatically activates during a crash to broadcast distress signals on 121.5 MHz and 406MHz

This beautiful and very famous film actress INVENTED the principle of fast frequency switching, which is still used today for military transmitters and receivers that do not allow enemy radio intelligence and interception equipment to “catch or jam” the pilot’s communication (in this case) with the rescue group.

As you know, the American fighter-bomber (in Russian transcription “sturmovik”) F-15 E was shot down over Iranian territory, but both crew members managed to eject. The pilot was found quickly and rescued. But the second, the navigator, could not be found and saved immediately, and a special rescue operation was organized by American and Israeli special forces. Around the place where the pilot was hiding, Iranian soldiers and agents of various services swarmed to capture him. But he managed to contact his rescuers using one or more mobile coded radio devices, and so was discovered and rescued.These devices used the principle of fast frequency switching of very short signals, so that the Iranians could not intercept or jammed anything.

For such a beautiful movie actress to also have the brilliant head of an inventor is a rare coincidence!
